Why APES? We live in a world that is changing. It is now clear that humans have altered the planet in ways that threaten the very existence of our species. Humans are part of the ecosystems we inhabit and we are discovering how important it is to live sustainably within those ecosystems. Issues that we will investigate in this course include food and water resources, climate, energy needs, and the value of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
New Students!!! If you are signed up to take APES next year (2019-2020) then you must complete a summer assignment. You will find the summer assignment under the "Summer Assignment" tab. Complete all three parts before the first day of school and don't forget to study the prerequisite material as you will be quizzed on this in the first week of class. I look forward to working with you all next year and hope that you find inspiration this summer so that you come in ready and eager to learn how humans can live sustainably on this amazing planet!
